Heitinga hints at Everton exit

Everton defender Johnny Heitinga has said in no uncertain terms that he wants to leave Goodison Park this summer.

The Dutch international has been unhappy with his status at the club for a while now and it appears he has finally lost his patience.

With his current deal running until June 2014, Heitinga believes the time is right for the club to cash in on him.

If they want to earn something for me, this is the moment, Heitinga told Voetbal International. I have made no arrangement with the club about that. I will just wait and see what happens.

Heitinga arrived at Goodison Park in the summer of 2009 from Atletico Madrid as a high-profile signing, but he never quite managed to establish himself as an important member of the squad.

Levante v Barcelona: Guardiola record beckons in Luis Enrique´s 100th game in charge

Luis Enrique can equal a record set by Pep Guardiola when he takes his Barcelona side to face Levante in La Liga on Sunday, in what will be his 100th game in charge.

The Liga leaders stretched their unbeaten run in all competitions to 27 matches when they thrashed Valencia 7-0 in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final on Wednesday, equalling a tally set by Rinus Michel s side in 1973-74.

Guardiola s class avoided defeat for 28 consecutive games between September 2010 and January 2011 before they were eventually beaten by Real Betis, meaning Luis Enrique can draw level with his former team-mate this weekend.

Barca s formidable form since they lost to Sevilla on October 3 last year suggests Levante, who sit bottom of La Liga, will find it supremely tough to i…

Simeone is Atletico Madrid´s God – Rodriguez

Diego Simeone is a God  to Atletico Madrid, according to the club s former winger Cristian Rodriguez.

Simeone has been a revelation at the Vicente Calderon since taking over in 2011, establishing the Atletico as one of the forces of Spanish and European football.

The Argentine coach won the Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and Copa del Rey in his early days at the club, before taking out the La Liga title in 2013-14.

In that same season Simeone guided Atletico to the final of the Champions League, but they suffered a 4-1 loss after extra-time to local rivals Real Madrid.

Rodriguez, who played for three years under Simeone after being purchased by the 45-year-old in 2012, says he is like a God within the club.

Juventus to raid Premier League for Pogba, Kane, Willian

Juventus are preparing for a very busy transfer window it seems, once FIFA gives the green light for the market to open. Their intention to bring Paul Pogba back from Manchester United has been reported far and wide, and claim the France international remains their top priority. Pogba hasn t done nearly as well at United as his €105 million price tag in 2016 suggested he would, and the Red Devils could cash in to secure funds for new signings. Juventus are apparently prepared to go further than Real Madrid (also heavily linked with Pogba) to please the 27-year-old midfielder.

Harry Kane is apparently frustrated with the lack of trophies at Tottenham Hotspur and wants to leave North London to try and win some, and the Serie A champions will look to take advantage of the 26-ye…

Guardiola ´regretful´ over Bayern-Ancelotti parting

Pep Guardiola has expressed sympathy with Carlo Ancelotti following his sacking as head coach of Bayern Munich.

Bayern parted company with former AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Ancelotti on Thursday in the wake of a resounding 3-0 defeat at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and amid claims relations had broken down between the experienced Italian and a number of his experienced squad members.

Guardiola won the Bundesliga in each of his three seasons at the Allianz Arena between 2013-14 and 2015-16, along with two DFB-Pokal triumphs, and Ancelotti made it five straight top-flight titles for Bayern last term.

However, a succession of unconvincing performances during pre-season spilled into the campaign-proper this time around and Bayern are curren…

Barcelona ahead of schedule in bid to surpass €1bn in turnover

Barcelona expect to announce an eye-watering turnover in excess of €1billion ahead of schedule in 2020.

The forecast is claimed to be a new record in the world of sport and is on course to be reached before the club s stated target of 2021.

LaLiga champions in four of the past five seasons, Barca s revenue climbed €76million to a club-record €990m for the 2018-19 season.

The Camp Nou outfit spent large sums on Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann ahead of the 2019-20 campaign but project a three per cent reduction in sporting salaries and nine per cent increase in income for player transfers and loans after parting with Andre Gomes, Malcom and Jasper Cillessen among other fringe members of Ernesto Valverde s squad.

Juventus complete €40m deal for Joao Cancelo

Joao Cancelo has completed his move from Valencia to Serie A champions Juventus, signing a five-year contract with the Bianconeri.

The Portugal international, who can operate on the right of defence or midfield, underwent a medical on Wednesday after flying into Turin the previous day to complete the formalities of his €40.4million transfer.

Liverpool´s defensive improvement no accident – Gomez

Liverpool s significant defensive improvement has been no accident after hard work on the training pitch, according to defender Joe Gomez.

Ever since Jurgen Klopp took over as Liverpool manager in 2015, the Reds have rarely struggled to find the net.

But they have often attracted criticism for their performances defensively, with pundits suggesting they would have gone much closer to winning the Premier League title in the last two years – instead of consecutive fourth-placed finishes – had they been more solid at the back.

Last term they conceded 38, giving them the fourth stingiest defensive in the league, but Liverpool still shipped 11 more goals than champions Manchester City.

Following Saturday s 1-0 win at Huddersfield Town, Liverpool have let…

Pochettino worried by impact of Amazon documentary at Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted to being worried about the extra workload a new documentary centred on Tottenham will create for his staff.

Amazon cameras are in the process of capturing Spurs 2019-20 season for the latest chapter in the All or Nothing series, which has previously focused on Premier League champions Manchester City.

The series takes viewers behind the scenes at the club and inside the dressing room on matchday.

The portrayal, unlike City s highly successful 2017-18 campaign, could be unflattering for Tottenham, who have struggled badly for form in the early months of this season.

When the club agreed the deal with Amazon, of course we were worried about it, manager Pochettino said.

Because it is not easy, not easy. It is tough …
