Aston Villa are interested in signing Hugo Duro from Valencia, according to . The report has noted that West Ham United are competing with Premier League rivals Villa for the 24-year-old Spanish striker.
CaughtOffSide has reported that Villa manager Unai Emery personally wants Duro in his squad. The former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain boss is reportedly “confident that Duro’s playing style will adapt well to the Premier League and that he can make a significant contribution to the team’s goal-scoring efforts”.
West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui is also keen on a deal for Duro. The former Real Madrid and Wolverhampton Wanderers manager “sees Duro’s energy and goal-scoring ability as a major potential asset for the Hammers’ attack”, according to the report. Duro has scored two goals in five starts and one substitute appearance in La Liga this season. He scored 13 goals and provided two assists in 35 La Liga starts for Valencia last season.
